My Story

I was born and raised in Denmark, with a significant part of my childhood spent in Sweden, I have always had an insatiable passion for travelling. The year 2000 was a turning point in my life. While spending a few months in Egypt, I met my wonderful kiwi husband, Wiki.

After our serendipitous meeting, Wiki and I settled in London, where we lived and worked for the next three years. In 2003, our wanderlust took us to Australia. It was love at first sight with Queensland, and we decided to make it our home. Wiki proposed to me at the picturesque Mount Coot-tha, and in 2005, we exchanged our vows at Point Danger Lookout, which sits right on the border between New South Wales and Queensland.

At that time, I was working as a public servant but was longing for a job that would not only give me immense job satisfaction but also allow me to stay at home when we started a family. In 2006, I completed a celebrancy course, becoming a registered Marriage Celebrant in 2008.

Our first beautiful son, Lucas, was born in 2007, followed closely by our second son, Levi, in 2008, who is equally as gorgeous. The early years of parenting were busy, filled with amazing moments spent with our little boys. During this period, I put my celebrancy career on hold to fully immerse myself in motherhood.

Despite my love for the celebrancy profession, there was one significant challenge I needed to overcome: a debilitating fear of public speaking. To conquer this fear, I enrolled in another course and became a Clinical Hypnotherapist. Through daily practice, self-hypnosis and self-improvement, I not only overcame my fear of public speaking but also conquered my fear of driving on highways.

Today, I am proud to say that I have conducted over 500 weddings and I love driving up and down the coast and inland to officiate them.

There is not one day where I don't feel like going to work. Being a marriage celebrant is the best job in the world. I love everything about it, from meeting my couples and hearing their stories, to creating a ceremony that is perfect for them and reflects their personalities, traditions, and bond. Completing all the legal documents and dotting the 'i's, officiating the wedding, and helping my couple become spouses — I love it all.

My three boys and I live in Ferny Hills on Brisbane's northside with our three Pugs, Sylvia, Vera, and Bruce. Our household is made even more lively by our two very fluffy cat-brothers, Licorice and Marshmallow, and our two Quaker parrots, Jade and Blueberry. We are all total homebodies, when we are not travelling or camping, and we love our little oasis in Ferny Hills.
